The first larger-ish update has arrived for this little game. Nothing groundbreaking yet. Honestly I'm working on cleaning up the code and making it modular for future expansions at the moment. In the mean time I tought some balance changes could come in handy as well as a few bug fixes.
Balance changes:
- Spooky Surprise:
- Added a cooldown system: After deactivating, the ability goes on a 3 second cooldown, during which the ability cannot be reactivated
- The ability starts on cooldown at the start
- First tick that does more terror happens
1-> 0.25 seconds after activation - Other ticks happen every
1-> 2 seconds (note that the plasma drain still happens every second) - Added Line of sight checks to humans before they take terror from Spooky Surprise.
- Fixed an issue where the game detected the ability to be active after running out of plasma, which caused a loop of regenerating 2 plasma over 8 seconds, the ability turning automatically on draining your 2 plasma and deactivating the ability again (while still detecting that it's active).
General bug fixes:
- Fixed camera lagging behind walls when going trough them, causing jittery camera movement
- Fixed the player not being able to move trough the party room's doors while Spooky Surprise was active
- Multiple collision fixes with the player when Spooky Surprise is active caused by party decorations
- Fixed the mouse cursor missing when returning to the main menu
